Making the most of your romantic break

You can enjoy a romantic break in this country idyll, lunch at a delightful riverside pub and easily get into London for a show in little more than half and hour from most places.

Head to Henry VIII's great palace of Hampton Court, stroll through the riverside gardens before taking to the water. Pack a picnic and hire yourselves a boat for two. Or step aboard one of the cruising boats for a river tour upstream to romantic Richmond and beyond.

From here you're close to the world famous gardens and exotic glasshouses of Kew, a wonderful place at any time of year. Elsewhere in the county the gardens of RHS Wisley are a wonderfully romantic place to while away an afternoon.
